NETFLIX has welcomed a cult classic film to the streamer, which stars Britney Spears.
Britney’s debut film, Crossroads, induced much nostalgia among fans of the pop star.

Many fans also found that the 2002 film included a cameo they had forgotten about, which caused them to be surprised.
Within the first minute of Crossroads, Britney’s, 41, younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears, 32, appeared.
She portrayed the younger version of Britney’s character, Lucy Wagner.
On X, which used to be Twitter, fans of the movie brought up how they were surprised when Jamie popped up on the screen while they watched Crossroads.
“I forgot Jaime Lynn was in the beginning of #Crossroads, out on @netflix now,” one fan tweeted.
Another added: “Just finished watching #Crossroads. D**n such nostalgia #BritneySpears.”
Crossroads is a romantic comedy about a group of friends who take a road trip cross-country after they graduate high school in an effort to find themselves.
Actress Zoe Saldana, 45, and Taryn Manning, 45, starred alongside Britney in the film, portraying her best friends Kit and Mimi.
WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN
At the time of Britney’s conservatorship, Taryn had spoken out on Instagram.
In 2020, the Orange is the New Black alum candidly confessed as fans worried about the award-winning singer’s health amid the legal drama then.
“Not trying to get likes I could care less. I am worried about my friend and co-star,” she began the caption.
“Too many times we let one go a-stray and never bother to poke our heads around. “Not my chair, not my problem.”
“@britneyspears for all of you who hit me daily to do something. I hear you now!
“We care. Voice away angels this is your playground can’t phase us anymore. she is my focus. Loving you,” she concluded in the heartfelt message.
#FREEBRITNEY
Taryn’s support came as Britney’s fanbase continued to push the #FreeBritney movement as they do not believe the conservatorship allows the beloved music mogul to speak up for herself.
One loyal fan commented on Taryn’s post: ”I love “Crossroads”. It was a very inspiring movie in my life. Thanks for showing your concern for the welfare of Britney. We, the true fans are demanding her freedom back. #FreeBritney #EndTheConservatorship.”
“Thank you for speaking up for #freebritney silence is why this has gone on so long,” another supported added.
“Glad you’re worried because nobody has had her back really for over a decade being sentenced to life under a damn slavery.
“They need to let her out of the conservatorship and give her life back to her,” an angry fan wrote in the Instagram comments.
BRITNEY’S FREE
Britney’s conservatorship ended in November 2021 after 13 years as a judge ruled in favor of her to allow her to take full control of her life and career finally.
Britney’s father, Jamie, had been removed as conservator in September 2021 after he filed to step down from the position.
Judge Brenda Penny has ruled that her conservatorship be terminated without requiring any further mental evaluation – giving the hitmaker control of her life for the first time since 2008.
Britney’s lawyer, Matt Rosengart, began the hearing in November 2021, quoting Britney’s June testimony in which she said, “I just want my life back.”
The judge then asked all the lawyers in court if they had any objections, which all said no.
The termination was approved with minor exceptions, including that her estate conservatorship remains intact.
Britney’s lawyer explained the estate includes documents needed for the assets she has in the conservatorship to be transferred to a trust controlled by Britney.
Additionally, the hearing did not end the dispute over how the conservatorship was handled.
