The news was announced a little bit before Paramount’s CinemaCon presentation earlier this morning.
Miramax’s former genre label, Dimension Films, originally released the Scary Movie parodies in the 2000s.

Many fans demanded some of the original characters, specifically Cindy (Anna Farris) and Brenda (Regina Hall) be included in the forthcoming film.
“I’M SO HAPPY. I HOPE CINDY AND BRENDA COME BACK AGAIN,” one fan emphasized.

“Only way they should do this is if they’re bringing back Ana Farris and the Wayans Bros. Ala the Scream reboot,” another begged.
“I will be VERY disappointed if Anna Faris & Regina Hall are not in the SCARY MOVIE 2025 reboot, though. Their comedic chemistry is unmatched,” a third person mentioned.

Fans not only insisted that original characters appear in the Scary Movie, which will be released in 2025, but they also wanted the franchise’s first writers back.
Those writers are the Wayans brothers.
“If the Wayans bros are not producing and writing keep it! Also Brenda played by Regina Hall needs to be in it!,” one person revealed.
“Bring back the OG cast and have the Wayans running the show. Five was bad and I want real comedy back. At least try to have something similar to the first two films,” a second fan shared.
“Only if it’s The Wayan Brothers doing it,” a third added.
“If it doesn’t have Anna Faris, Regina Halls, and the Wayans, why bother,” someone else wrote.
