THE Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are supposedly getting a brutal makeover for their next movie.
Fans of the TMNT franchise are worried that the new live-action movie revealed last year will be too gritty for young ears.

Paramount Pictures announced they started developing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin in 2022.
The new movie follows the success of 2023’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which grossed $118.6 million in the US and Canada.
However, The Holywood Reporter said that the new movie, whose release date is still unknown, will take a darker turn than previous installments.
The movie will be R-rated, meaning viewers must be over 17 or accompanied by a responsible adult.
Last year’s film was rated PG and mostly suitable for children with only a few themes of violence.
Tyler Burton Smith has been appointed to write the film.
His previous credits include Boy Kills World, which was also R-rated, and the 2019 remake of the horror movie Chucky.
Walter Hamada will produce the film in keeping with a multi-million deal he has with Paramount.
Walter has worked on several mature films, including The Conjuring and the Stephen King adaptation, It.
The movie is based on a graphic novel written by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
The story, which was released in July 2022, has a darker tone and is set in a futuristic totalitarian New York City.
Turtles are picked off one by one in the story before one narrowly escapes and vows to take revenge.
TMNT does not need to be R Rated. Yeah I speak for everyone when I say we won’t be watching.

The TMNT comics were originally released in 1984 in black and white and set to poke fun at other superhero books of the time, including X-Men.
The creators then gave production companies the rights for the graphic novels to be turned into a bright animated television show in the late 1980s.
The stories have always maintained a light topic, which is set to change in the latest development currently in the works.
FAN CONCERN
Fans on X, formerly Twitter, seemed concerned by the news that their beloved series could take a darker twist.
“R rated just mean we’ll see the turtles he brutally killed right,” wrote a fan with a crying face emoji.
“Ninja Turtles R-rated you say?” another asked with a video of someone crying.
“Not sure if I want [this],” wrote a third.
“TMNT does not need to be R Rated. Yeah I speak for everyone when I say we won’t be watching,” noted a fourth.
