ACTRESS Mira Sorvino has teased the possibility of a sequel to Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion, and her co-star, Alan Cummings, might be involved.
The Dancing With the Stars alum revealed the news during her appearance at ’90s Con in Hartford, Connecticut, over the weekend.

Mira, 56, spoke on the And the Award Goes to Panel alongside Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, moderated by People magazine, where she hinted that the beloved 1997 film could be getting a revival.
“The thing that we’ve been asking them for years, which was ‘let’s get a sequel going,’ became an option,” Mira revealed, as per a The U.S. Sun reporter who attended the panel.
“I was super excited for us because we see here that in this room, we have a place in people’s hearts that has not gone away. In fact, it’s kind of grown over the years,” The Replacements star continued.
“It’s become embedded in people’s lives in different ways. It means something to them. The girls deserve a follow-up.”
Mira, who played Romy White in the film, didn’t mention if her co-star, Lisa Kudrow, 60, who starred as Michele Weinberger, would reprise her role, but she mentioned another fan favorite who might be on board.
“I think he (Alan Cumming) said he would do it, but I don’t have that personally confirmed,” Mira said of her co-star, 59, who played the memorable Sandy Frink.
The comedy told the fictional tale of BFFs Romy and Michele, who attempted to reform themselves for their high school reunion to convince their former classmates that they had done more with their lives than reality showed.
It was a widely-popular film, raking in $29.9million in box office sales and garnering millions of fans.
Although fans had long been vying for a sequel, it seemed unlikely, given the stars’ massively successful careers on their own.
REALITY TV RUN
Mira was already an Academy Award and Golden Globe winner for her supporting role in Woody Allen’s 1995 film Mighty Aphrodite.
On top of a string of other acting credits over the past three decades, Mira competed on Season 32 of DWTS.
She and her dancing partner, Gleb Savchenko, were eliminated during episode five, with actress Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy later securing the victory.
Hours after her loss, Mira tested her knowledge on Celebrity Jeopardy! against CSI: Miami star Adam Rodriguez and Fox Sports commentator Peter Schrager.
Mira won that round with $3,200, Peter with $2,000, and Adam with -$800.
She again outperformed the men in Final Jeopardy, earning $12,200, while Peter earned $11,800 and Adam $4,500.
MAJOR SUCCESSES
Meanwhile, after Romy and Michelle, Lisa continued her role as Phoebe Buffay on the sitcom Friends, earning many awards and accolades for her portrayal.
Lisa recently reunited with her NBC family to mourn the tragic death of their co-star, Matthew Perry, in October 2023.
As for Alan, aside from his impressive acting career, he’s the host of the hit reality series The Traitors, streaming on Peacock.
The buzzed-about program follows TV personalities from shows like Big Brother, Survivor, Love Island, The Bachelor, and The Challenge as they work together to identify the traitors among them.
Season two’s reunion aired on March 14.
